Miguel Gilarte and Charles Curtin are Mac and Cheese, a young practice based in Sydney, Australia. Their work questions pre-existing cultural perceptions of place and challenges embedded social structures through object, architecture, and narrative. The collaboration started at the University of Technology, Sydney where they graduated together as Masters of Architecture. Mac and Cheese are dedicated to maintaining a relationship with both academia and practice, operating in the space inbetween and extending the possibilities of both. All the while, they try not to take themselves too seriously. Their recent work explores domesticity through speculative projects such as the Future of Living, and housing in regional NSW.
